=What has this man been doing ?= After the following exchange of comments I realized I probably remeber only half of what Weiderkampf has been up to. I imagine something like: match each polyglot languag / skull. Then channel through the skulls to find the "zero point" language and where it must have come from. ** *Rounds upon rounds of applause* Breakthrough! *** What ? for stating the obvious ? *** What I don't get is how he went from language to geographical position. **** You may be looking for different information (or at least prioritise it differently from Weiderkampf). Language and location are obviously key to Weiderkampf's plan and he was able to obtain both of these pieces of information (or at least clues to) from the Skulls and his machine. The question is not so much how (although that may come from Crapper's investigation of the machine) but why... ***** Possibly because the Tower is (was) the centre of humanity. Humanity once lived as a single unit. After the destruction of the tower man dispersed. It is possible (probable) that everyone (or every omphalos centred group) still has a link to that original centre. If that were the case manipulating/controlling the centre one could manipulate and control all of humanity - trust a Prussion to want not only his own empire but everyone else's too. Maybe this would need Weiderkampf to cast a new omphalos spell their, maybe not. In a sense I'm less worried about why Weiderkampf wants to find the tower of babel as I am about why the Fin de Siecle want him to find it. If my above hypothesis is true (ha ha) then allowing Weiderkampf to found a Prussian empire through the tower (centre) would give them the means to destroy (enslave ?) humanity through that same centre. More far fetched (reaches for the coffee) would be that the Tower of Babel or some aspect of it is related to the first compact and through Weiderkampf's actions (or as a result of them) he or the Fin de Siecle would break the compact allowing Him free reign over the world again. They don't call me Mr Paranoid Conspiracy Theory for nothing you know. ****** Indeed thats not a bad premise and would explain some of Wiederkampf's actions...but not all. You can only guess at the Fin de Siecle's level of involvement and their motives. Wiederkampf might be the one doing the manipulating...or he could be part of their greater scheme...or he could just be a loose cannon...or they may not know anything about it. They are marked by their absence from his recent machinations. As far as I can tell he has been desperately trying to get the skulls together and finally achieved this at the British Library. What can anyone else add ? Given that he has just commited multiple murders Weiderkampf he unlikely to be hanging around. it is also likely the police will trample all over the place given half a chance. It is imperative we gain access to and search Weiderkampf's residence the same night as the murders. Calloway, are you up for this ?
