This is a Gadgetech conversion for the grip of a pistol or stock of a rifle. If the wielder of the weapon squeezes the concealed trigger running along the ridge of the weapon grip, the gadgetech is primed. Consequently if the grip is released voluntarily or involuntarily without first deactivating it the gadgetech device is triggered. Depending upon the variant installed this leads to one of two results, either a small gas canister is activated releasing the gas of choice (normally either a smoke or incapacitant gas, although lethal options are available) or a small explosive fires subsequently detonating any remaining ammunition within the weapon and destroying the weapon itself, creating an effective shrapnel grenade.

This device is currently only available to secret service operatives, but is adaptable for any weapon. It would be ideal for situations where you were forced to drop or hand over weapons by an ambush or overwhelming numbers. Similarly it forms a makeshift grenade as a last resort if ammunition runs out or to cover ones escape. Finally it is quite effective an effective weapon when facing insurmountable odds, taking out any opponents if you are incapacitated. Of course if the explosive is installed and you are merely rendered unconcious after activating it, the proximity of the dropped weapon and subsequent explosion will seriously harm you if not kill you.
