What is this madness?!?!
A Steampunk resource for anyone with an interest in adventure in the Victorian Age as well as the collected documents from the legacy of The Lemniscate Club.
This week I have been mostly working on:
Been a while hasn't it? I have been working on some other projects, but with two concurrent Falkenstein sessions planned and coming up, I thought I'd update you with some of the developments in this little world:
06/06/06 - The Bowdlerizer - An Accoustic Censor for the Faint at Heart and prudes of all ages.
23/06/06 - The Westaway Agency - Protecting the Future of our Nation
An Announcement
I mention below that the site is now over a year old and that I was thinking of something to mark this milestone. Well, IanT, toiling away in his workshop has unveiled a new feature that will more than suffice - we now have a comments feature! Initially this will be hidden from the general public whilst we test it and get some content going, but registered users of this website already have access to this feature and can post comments and start discussions on the content of each article. I'm very impressed by this feature and I think it will add a lot to the atmosphere and allow the mythology to build up in an organic way as the impact of the topics upon the world at large becomes apparent.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
it is my great pleasure to announce that, as of the 5th of October 2005 this site is now 1 YEAR OLD!!!! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their contributions to the website, players both past and present, IanT for his efforts in providing us with the facilities, their maintenance and upgrades, and to whatever audience we might have out there (although who actually reads this stuff, we have no idea).
So all round three cheers for everyone involved-
Hip hip...HUZZAH!
Hip hip...HUZZAH!
Hip hip...HUZZAH!
I'm trying to rack my brains for something to do by way of celebration. I shall have a think...
A Grand Unveiling!
The Reviews section of this site is open to the general public and is slowly but steadily growing, we now have various articles covering steampunk and victoriana in a variety of mediums, from Graphic Novels to Films, TV series, Radio Comedy, RPG Supplements and Non-fiction books.
Spread the word
If you have stumbled across this site and enjoy the work you find within, the best way you can reward the contributors who have put in their hard time and effort is to either drop us a line and pay us a compliment (we love to hear encouragement and positive feedback) or link to us, so that others can enjoy our efforts too!
Stop Press!
I've just found out to my amazement that 2005 sees the publishing of "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume III: The Dark Dossier"! I could go on about my thoughts on the differences between Volume I and II, but I'll save that for another day. Suffice to say its got an interesting plot, set in the 1950's when the Secret Service and The League are at odds, the Secret service having compiled a dossier on the history of the league. The story unfolds of the Leagues history throughout the years (1910's, 1800's, 1600's and 2000 B.C. are the reported setting for some of the stories) whilst in the 1950s the surviving members of the League try to escape the Secret Service. You can read more about it on this page. If anyone reading this finds out more information or more articles, feel free to point me in their direction, cheers...a very happy Dan.
The Sterling Work of Others!:-
As ever I should stress that this website is a collaborative effort, the work of many people and I'd like to extend my thanks to them for the work that they have submitted here. Graeme seems to have something up his sleeve in the way of new inventions by Thomas Crapper. Most intriguing is the Holistic ballistic armour and I have a horrible suspicion I know where he is going with that one...

If it was true that the gun culture of rap music causes violence, then after the 1812 overture there would have been driveby cannonings all over Europe...*Boom* Prussian Motherf*cker!" - Mark Steel
